Job summary

LGH Winches UK is seeking a Diesel Engine Mechanic to maintain, inspect and test winching equipment for clients, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental rules.

You will handle customer engagement, timely delivery and collection of gear, and accurate documentation of damages, with opportunities to support breakdowns outside office hours. A full UK driving licence and relevant mechanical qualifications are required.

Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence (current & clean).
  • Qualification in mechanics/engineering or equivalent.
  • Diesel engine mechanics experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics.
  • 12V electrics experience preferred.
  • English language proficiency both spoken and written.
  • Experience with plant, HGVs or agricultural equipment.
  • 3 years mechanical engineering experience.
  • Safety awareness and understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, and test winching and ancillary equipment.
  • Potential to participate in breakdown service outside office hours.
  • Ensure correct administrative completion.
  • Co-responsibility for order and tidiness in the workshop.
  • Any other work relating to the workshop.

Summary Of The Role

Maintaining, inspecting, and testing winching and ancillary equipment belonging to LGH Winches and its clients to ensure that these comply with the statutorily established rules. Further responsibilities include enthusiastic customer engagement, timely delivery and collection of equipment, accurate documentation of any damages or missing parts, and adherence to company policies and procedures regarding quality, safety, health, and the environment.

Overview Of Accountabilities
  • Maintenance, testing and certification of winching and ancillary equipment.
  • Potential requirement to participate in the breakdown service for maintenance/repair of winching equipment outside office hours.
  • Ensuring correct administrative completion.
  • Co-responsibility for order and tidiness in the workshop.
  • Any other work relating to the workshop.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Full UK Driving License (current & clean)
  • Completed training or qualification in mechanics, engineering, electromechanical disciplines, or comparable level obtained through experience.
  • Diesel engine mechanics experience
  • Knowledge or understanding of hydraulics
  • Experience with 12V Electrics is preferable
  • Command of the English language both orally and in writing.
  • Previous experience of working on plant, HGV’s or agricultural equipment
  • Basic safety awareness and understanding
  • 3 years mechanical engineering experience
