Job summary

Unipart in Rotherham is seeking a Workshop Engineer to support workshop activities, including preparation of parts laser-cut from sheet metal and wiring installations, following designs from engineers and ensuring assemblies meet specification.

You will operate CNC machinery, use hand tools, contribute to continuous improvements, and provide project status updates to senior engineers. The role offers full-time hours, a competitive package with pension and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture / assemble new products, working with Design Engineers, ensuring they meet specification, functional, design and business performance requirements.
• Involvement in manufacturing of innovative products from concept to operation including prototyping, manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.
• Measure and inspect products ensuring they are up to specification.
• Support other engineers within the team.
• Ensure intellectual property and commercial issues associated with product development and introduction are effectively managed with suppliers and customers.
• Develop your own knowledge and ability using Continuous Improvement activities to support business growth.
• Provide workshop support, equipment maintenance, stock check.
• Keep senior management and engineers up-to-date on project status and progress.

Location: Rotherham - Catcliffe - Metlase

Hours: Full time

Salary: £35,000 per annum plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme

About the Role

As Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of all workshop activities including, preparation of parts laser cut from sheet metal, and wiring installations. Following instructions from Design Engineers and interacting with designs you will assemble a variety of products, ensuring they meet specification. Operation of different CNC machinery and proficient in the use of hand tools, ensuring that workshop activities run smoothly, suggesting any improvements for efficiencies, and implementing them will be part of your role.
