Job summary

Unipart Technologies Group is seeking a maintenance/toolroom professional to uphold jigs, fixtures and tooling used in the manufacture of exhausts, fuel fillers, tanks and rails. You will join a just-in-time environment and contribute to problem solving, improvements and technical support for production.

The role focuses on maintaining tooling, delivering dependable service, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through process enhancements while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance or toolroom environment.
• Knowledge of milling machines, lathes, drills and grinders.
• Relevant apprenticeship, City & Guilds qualification or equivalent experience.

Maintain jigs, fixtures and tooling used in the manufacture of exhausts, fuel fillers, fuel tanks and fuel rails within a just-in-time environment.

About the Role:

• Deliver excellent departmental service that meets or exceeds customer requirements and specifications.
• Support problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide technical support to production.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements.
• Follow all Safety, Health and Environmental procedures and challenge unsafe acts or behaviours.
• Report incidents, hazards and near misses to reduce the risk of recurrence.

About You:

• Builds effective working relationships and influences others positively.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude.
• Plans and organises work effectively.
• Works conscientiously and takes ownership of tasks.
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a maintenance or toolroom environment, including use of milling
• machines, lathes, drills and grinders, with a willingness to expand their skill set.
• MIG and TIG welding experience would be advantageous.
• Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safe working practices and health and safety responsibilities.
• Relevant apprenticeship, City & Guilds qualification or equivalent experience.
