You will need to have in depth knowledge of diesel-powered engines or generators and the ability to carry out mechanical or electrical repairs to large machinery in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, utilising a combination of the most up to date dealer software and traditional repair techniques.
Overview of responsibilities
Working hours
The contracted hours for this position are 40 hours per week however, to support our valued customers it may be required to work some additional hours including evenings or weekends, this will be paid in accordance with our overtime rates. There may also be a requirement to travel to other Finning branches.
What to expect
You will work within the workshop either alone or in small teams, which is job dependent. You will be issued a phone, laptop (with main dealer standard diagnostic software) and a range of specialist test tooling will be available from the tool stores. You will be expected to have your own hand tools. It is expected of you to travel to and from work by your own arrangements. Due to the large product range there will be new challenges and experiences on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Qualifications ranging from NVQ, City and guilds or similar in Land based Engineering / Plant fitting, LGV/HGV, or mechanical engineering, with demonstratable skills and experience working with plant or heavy vehicles will be considered. Formally apprentice trained preferred.
