Job summary

A leading company in marine and environmental services seeks a Workshop Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining vessels and workshop equipment. Responsibilities include supporting planned maintenance, stock control, and supervising crane operations. Qualifications

  • Understanding of marine operations is beneficial.

Job description

Client is a market leader in the marine and environmental services industry, providing clients with services ranging from terminal operations to subsea cable repair,

Salary up to 38k per annum

The role is to assist the Workshop Manager and Technical Manager to provide effective maintenance of all vessels, shore-based assets and fuelling systems within the specific division, enabling their safe operation.

  • Maintain workshop & it's equipment under the direction of the Workshop Manager
  • Support the Maintenance Team for planned maintenance on all designated vessels - minor fabrication, welding and carpentry may be required
  • Assist the Workshop Manager with stock control
  • Assist the Workshop Manager with vehicle fleet checks and pick up/drop offs for services and MOT's
  • Act as Crane Supervisor or Slinger/Banksman during lift operations - full training to be given as appropriate
  • Perform any additional duties as reasonably requested to support the Maintenance Team and on-site operations depending on skills, experience, and capabilities.
The Candidate

The successful candidate must have undertaken a recognised technical apprenticeship or spent time within a busy fabrication/manufacturing workshop environment. They will be familiar with company HSEQ processes, safety management systems and ISO accreditation audits. An understanding of operations in a marine setting would be beneficial.

  • Planned maintenance system experience
  • Awareness of risk assessment and permit-to-work processes
  • HNC or equivalent Workshop Technology/Fabrication Welding
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
