Job summary

Allstaff is seeking a skilled Service Engineer in Biggleswade for a permanent, full-time role. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics and refurbishments on industrial machines, and mentor apprentices, while liaising with the Workshop Supervisor. A valid NVQ3 or equivalent and CSCS card are required.

You will work a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a pay range of roughly £16.56–£19.16 per hour DOE and pension/wellbeing benefits provided by the company.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3+ apprenticeship completed or equivalent.
• CSCS card collected or in progress.
• Experience in major component overhaul refurbishments.
• Experience with service software and interfaces.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out routine pre-delivery inspections of new machines.
• Fit extras to machines as approved.
• Perform all forms of repair and servicing to machines.
• Repair, overhaul and diagnosis of plant equipment.

Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time

The role…

• Carry out effective maintenance and repair work.
• Carry out routine pre-delivery inspections of new machines.
• Fit extras to machines where required - both factories approved and locally supplied.
• Perform all forms of repair and servicing to machines.
• Complete repair, overhaul and diagnosis of plant equipment.
• Maintaining clear communication with the Workshop Supervisor.
• Support and mentor engineering apprentices.

The experience required…

• Full clean driving licence.
• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3 or above.
• Demonstratable service Engineer experience particularly working on major component overhaul refurbishments.
• Industry-related training such as CSCS card.
• Previous experience with service software and interfaces.
• Good communication skills.
