Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire in Kidderminster is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead our workshop team, coordinate technicians, and drive productivity and customer satisfaction. You will manage workflow, make warranty decisions, and ensure vehicles leave the workshop to the highest standards using modern diagnostics and tools.

The role offers a salary up to £40,273, with a base around £37,639 plus bonus, over a 42.5-hour week.

• A qualified technician background with strong workshop experience and excellent technical knowledge, from routine servicing and maintenance through to advanced diagnostics.
• Commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused mindset, with a clear understanding of what makes a workshop successful.

Responsibilities

• Manage workshop workflow and priorities to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Coordinate technicians to deliver timely, high-quality vehicle repairs and servicing.
• Make warranty and recharge decisions using technical and commercial judgment.
• Support the team to deliver exceptional customer service and vehicle reliability.

We’re looking for an experienced and qualified Workshop Controller to play a pivotal role at our Kidderminster site. This is more than just managing workflow, it’s about keeping businesses moving, customers satisfied, and vehicles safely back on the road as quickly as possible.

Working in a modern workshop equipped with the latest technology and manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic operation where no two days are the same. You'll lead from the front, coordinating technicians, managing priorities, and ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop to the highest technical and quality standards.

As Workshop Controller, you'll have a direct influence on workshop performance, maximising productivity, efficiency, and profitability while supporting your team to deliver exceptional results. You'll also be the key decision-maker on warranty and recharge opportunities, using your technical expertise and commercial awareness to drive success.
