Location: Southend and surrounding areas

Dive into a world of opportunity!

Are you a hardworking, proactive, and self-motivated individual?

If so, this could be the right position for you!

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres.

What will you be doing?

You will be one of our Water Recycling Services Works Technicians in the Southend and surrounding areas, covering a number of sites local to this region. You will visit our Water Recycling Centres to carry out routine maintenance to ensure the sites operate correctly. This is a "hands-on job", working outside in all weathers maintaining, monitoring, and adjusting treatment processes. The work is varied, at times challenging, and it is unlikely that any two days will be the same.

Some of the duties will include:
  • Carry out scheduled activities as instructed via a scheduling app or direct from the OMC Technicians or from FLM or Optimiser (as appropriate)
  • Liaise with OMC to reschedule work plans to address critical compliance issues
  • Ensure site servicing is carried out to keep processes effective and compliant, following correct task sequences
  • Ensure asset care activities (e.g., lubrication schedules) are performed to required standards
  • Implement actions from Compliance Action Plans
What does it take to be a Works Technician Process Controller?
  • Educated to GCSE level, preferably in English and Mathematics
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confidence and ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Competency with IT systems
  • Some experience of sewerage design and construction is desirable
  • Strong administration abilities
  • A willingness to be flexible and to work well with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Strong focus on process and health and safety
  • Ability to work quickly, use own initiative, and solve problems
  • Full driving license
As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:
  • Personal private health care
  • Life cover - 8x annual salary paid to dependents
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing with service, plus bank holidays with options for religious holiday swaps
  • Flexible working arrangements depending on your role
  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water doubles your contributions up to 6%
  • Bonus scheme
  • Flexible benefits supporting your wellbeing and lifestyle
