Job summary

Bethell Construction Limited is seeking an experienced Works Manager / Site Manager to lead highways and civil works on site in the North West. You will manage day-to-day construction activities, coordinate teams and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and adherence to programme.

The role requires a Gold CSCS Card, SMSTS, and a minimum of 5 years in site management, with a strong background in highways, drainage and concrete works.

Qualifications

• Gold CSCS Card.
• SMSTS (5-Day Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
• NRSWA Supervisor or Lantra 12D qualification.
• SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme).
• HNC, HND or Degree in a construction-related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a site supervisory or management role.
• Experience within highways, excavation, groundworks, drainage and concrete works.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good understanding of CDM Regulations.
• Knowledge of NEC forms of contract.

• Support project delivery through effective planning, communication and problem solving.
• Act as a professional ambassador for Bethell when engaging with clients, stakeholders and the public.
• Promote high team morale and create a positive working environment on site.

The Role

As a Works Manager / Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.

You will lead operational teams, coordinate subcontractors, monitor project progress and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and contractual requirements. Working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders, you will help drive successful project delivery while maintaining Bethell's reputation for excellence.

We are looking for experienced site management professionals with a background in highways and civil engineering projects who can demonstrate strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.

You will be passionate about safety, quality and customer service, with the ability to motivate teams and deliver projects successfully in a fast-paced environment.
