Job Title: Works Control Centre (WCC) Operative

Working Pattern: Full-Time -on site 5 days per week

Working location: Raynesway, Derby

Reporting to the Estate Operations Manager, the WCC Operative is part of the Infrastructure Estate Management Team who acts as a key point of contact between stakeholders to evaluate, deconflict and approve works in support of estates operations and sub-contractor activities. This role supports the WCC Supervisor in delivering statutory obligations by supporting and implementing sufficient and suitable systems, processes and arrangements relating to facility management, Infrastructure works control/permitting and associated business continuity arrangements.

This role could also be appointed as a Responsible Person (RP) under the Rolls Royce Submarines Simple Compliance framework.

What you will be doing

  • Working within the Site Wide WCC, you will provide support and guidance to site personnel and contractors regarding the Work Control Centre’s procedures, in line with R-R HSE Control of Contractor Control Standard (CS-06) and Licence Conditions
  • Scoping and evaluating work requests and risk assessments, prioritising business critical tasks.
  • Assisting in the planning and scheduling of tasks and supporting planning meetings.
  • Maintaining statistics on schedule adherence, contractors on site, contractor’s safety performance etc
  • Working with a continuous improvement ethos to embrace the development of the Works Control Centre’s efficient operation and reflecting Rolls-Royce’s high standards of health, safety, and professionalism
  • Reporting on the volume and nature of emerging work permitted by the Work Control Centre to create opportunities to manage and reduce unplanned works.
  • Supporting individual improvement projects and major infrastructure projects works as needed.

To be successful in this role you will need to have :

  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A team player who can form relationships and influence process conformity
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Risk and COSHH assessment trained, with knowledge of IOSH/PUWER/LOLER
  • Familiarisation with Health and Safety Executive guidelines of Contractor Control or R-R CS-06 and a working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Working knowledge of nuclear site licensed conditions (in particular LC2, LC6, LC11, LC16, LC22, LC27 and LC28 ) and Ministry of Defence security requirements (JSP440) and pertaining to their impact on Facility Supervising operations, records and data.
