Job summary

Avalere Health seeks a Workplace & Culture Manager to lead day-to-day operations of our UK office portfolio and champion an exceptional employee experience. Based in our London office with a flexible hybrid model, you will partner with People, facilities and IT to craft best workplace solutions, ensuring staff feel engaged, supported, and connected to Avalere Health’s vision and values. The role is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, ideally starting October 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of UK office locations, ensuring safety, functionality and presentation.
  • Manage relationships with building management and facilities vendors (catering, security, maintenance).
  • Maintain office supplies, budget and equipment; schedule maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance and keep up-to-date documentation across sites.
  • Be main on-site contact for employees on office matters; provide concierge-level service to visitors.
  • Manage local office access controls and lead fire drills as fire warden.
  • Process monthly expense reports and support workplace ticketing system.
  • Manage UK sundry and social budgets and identify cost efficiencies.
  • Design and deliver an engaging employee experience across locations, from onboarding to everyday moments.
  • Plan and execute company-wide and office-specific events (all-hands, socials, celebrations).
  • Champion company values and culture with programs that bring them to life.
  • Coordinate internal/external meetings and align culture initiatives with business goals.
  • Continuously review and improve workplace processes; develop SOPs and playbooks.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve day-to-day operations.
  • Act as primary travel contact; manage ground transport bookings and queries.

About The Role

The Workplace & Culture Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our office portfolio and championing an exceptional employee experience across multiple locations. The role collaborates closely with the People Team, facilities, and IT to craft and implement the best workplace solutions for employees.

Working in the heart of our London office, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the relationship between our physical spaces, our people, and our culture — ensuring every employee feels engaged, supported, and connected to the vision and values of Avalere Health. This role is for a 12 month fixed-term contract as a maternity cover, ideally targeting an October 2026 start.

What You'll Do
Workplace Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational running of all our UK office locations, ensuring all sites are safe, functional, well-maintained, and consistently presented to a high standard
  • Manage relationships with building management, facilities vendors, and service providers (cleaning, catering, security, maintenance, etc.)
  • Maintains office supply stock (takes inventory, orders supply, and handles delivery) and manages local budget for orders
  • Maintains office equipment (phones, copiers, coffee machine, etc). Schedules maintenance as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, conducting regular audits and maintaining up-to-date documentation across all sites
  • Acts as the main point of contact for on-site employees on all office related matters, including providing concierge level service for all visiting executives and clients
  • Maintains local office alarm, building, and parking access controls
  • Acts as local office fire warden (attend annual building training, maintain fire drill checklist, lead annual fire drill, etc.)
  • Follows proper billing protocol to process monthly expense report
  • Provides support for the Workplace ticketing system
  • Manages UK sundry and social budgets, tracking spend and identifying cost efficiencies
Employee Experience & Culture
  • Design and deliver a consistent, engaging employee experience across all office locations — from onboarding to everyday moments that matter
  • Lead the planning and execution of company-wide and office-specific events, including all-hands, team socials, seasonal celebrations, milestone recognition, and community initiatives
  • Champion the company’s values and culture, developing programs and initiatives that bring them to life in a meaningful and authentic way
  • Manage internal and external client meetings (conference room setup, catering, clean-up)
  • Partner with People Team, Internal Comms, and leadership to align culture initiatives with broader business goals and people strategy
Efficiency & Process Improvement
  • Continuously review and improve workplace and operational processes to drive efficiency, reduce friction, and enhance the employee experience
  • Develop and maintain clear SOPs and playbooks for all core workplace and culture operations, ensuring consistency across sites
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that improve how the business operates day-to-day
Travel Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for travel tools and transportation booking enquirers, ensuring cost-efficient and employee-friendly solutions.
  • Manage ground transportation booking as needed
  • Support employees with travel queries, escalations, and complex itineraries as needed
  • Keep abreast of travel risk and duty of care obligations, ensuring the company meets its responsibilities for employee safety while travelling
About You
  • Around 5 years of experience in a workplace, office management, people operations, or culture-focused role, ideally within a multi-site environment
  • Proven track record of managing office portfolios and delivering high-quality employee experiences at scale
  • A natural people-person with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the business
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the business
  • Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets and vendor negotiations
  • Experience with workplace technology and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, ESG, and CSR best practices is desirable.
