Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the assessment of the design and effectiveness of the risk and control environment to support Client Operational Services and ensure adherence to enterprise-wide standards.
  • Performs monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation.
  • Leads the implementation of optimized controls and enhanced Quality Assurance (QA) practices to support business continuity efforts.
  • Manages the performance and productivity of team members that conduct quality inspection reviews.
  • Ensures timely execution of QA activities including control execution, case management, and results reporting.
  • Manages and reviews all operations front line unit responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews.
  • Ensures accuracy of data and that relevant information is captured for inspection metrics to support governance for dashboard reporting.
  • Promote and drive a strong risk culture through identification and mitigation of compliance and operational risk and remediation of control gaps.
  • Manage external regulatory exams (i.e., OCC, FINRA, SEC), internal corporate audits, and routine compliance testing.
  • Coordinate audit issue remediation through the development of action plans, controls, and sustainability activities; monitor progress of audit issue validation; analyze key themes.
  • Build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively within the Workplace Benefits business and with key Risk/Audit Partners; serving as primary point of contact.
  • Provide guidance to business partners in creating policies and procedures to ensure critical business operational processes are current and well documented.
  • Drive adherence to Enterprise Process & Policy through monitoring and driving enhancements with Process Owners to the Single Process Inventory.
  • Deliver key messages to audiences at multiple levels across the organization ensuring communications are impactful, insightful, timely, error-free, and concise and in adherence to enterprise-wide requirements.
  • Prepare reporting to oversee the health of the process and controls environment.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the processes supporting Workplace Benefits; improving the quality, execution, and timeliness of responses; identifying innovative approaches to drive efficiency and improve overall effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the financial services industry with risk and governance experience.
  • The candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills to navigate the complexities of aligning stakeholders including senior management, control partners, operations, and various lines of business.
  • Proven record of effective management and timely completion of multiple deliverables/initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Robust understanding of operational controls related to compliance or risk management.
  • Ability to plan and execute tactical actions within prescribed timelines to implement strategic objectives.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, communication, and delegation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Issues management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with the Single Process Inventory and Process Owner Portal.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
