Qualifications

  • Experience supervising in a busy environment, preferably in grounds maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Good planning skills to meet targets and schedules.

Job description

Job Title: Working Supervisor (MOD Sites)

Location: RAF Cosford and other Midlands MOD sites

Hourly rate: £15.38 p/h

Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working hours: 40 hours per week annualised, 07:30-16:00 with potential for overtime

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Working Supervisor to join our Grounds Maintenance team from RAF Cosford. Providing support to operational teams, you will be the vital link between management and operatives on the ground as well as having a hands-on approach to deliver quality customer focussed Grounds Maintenance service across the region. Your main site will be RAF Cosford but covering other key sites in the region on a split rotation throughout the working week, usually 2 visits each day. These include MOD's Stafford, Donnington & Kineton to RAF Shawbury and DMRC Stanford Hall.

Supporting the contract teams, this position will be primarily supervision, with some work on the tools when required; supporting with frequencies, specifications and quality of works control. A large part of the role will be ensuring compliance and Heathy & Safety policies are adhered to across all sites for our client. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Working Supervisor, Team Leader, or equivalent transferable skills, with a proven track record of supervising employees in a busy environment (preferably with a GM background)
  • A professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively
  • Good planning skills to ensure planning targets are met - setting schedules that makes sure tasks are completed
  • Complete Site Safety Checks, with a full understanding of H&S Policy and use of RAMS (ensuring workwear, PPE & vehicle compliance too)
  • Delivery of H&S Stand downs, Toolbox Talks with colleagues, signing off & reporting back to our SHEQ team
  • Able to effectively deploy resource including labour, transport, plants & equipment (and ensure all are maintained to a good standard).
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence and IT literacy are essential.
  • PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying certificates advantageous
  • LANTRA vehicle tickets advantageous.
  • Physically fit & able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willing to undergo DBS (if not had one in last 6 months) and BPSS checks.
