Working Supervisor

Livingston

Salary up to £29,300 per annum plus company vehicle and fuel card

Full time – Permanent, 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday

We currently deliver over 25 Planned Works Contracts, providing high-quality housing maintenance solutions across the UK. With 30 years of delivering market-leading repairs, refurbishment, fire safety and building maintenance services, Mears is trusted to deliver more than 6,000 housing repairs daily to more than 1,000,000 homes nationwide. We provide tailored rapid-response and planned housing maintenance services to meet the needs of over 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations partners.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Working Supervisor to join our team. In this role you will supervise and manage the work carried out by Facilities Operatives on Facilities Management contracts ensuring adherence to safety, quality and cost standards. You will also be responsible for overseeing a team of nine Facilities Operatives.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Oversee compliance tasks, including PPM management and weekly duties within schools (e.g. ensuring flushing is completed during school holidays).
  • Carry out weekly fire alarm testing
  • Arrange cover for sickness and holidays and provide cover at schools when necessary.
  • Ensure all sites are covered and schools are open and operating effectively.
  • Manage and utilise stock or collect materials required for sites, ensuring Mears’s procurement standards are upheld.
  • Promptly highlight any safeguarding concerns to the relevant customer or community officer within the branch, ensuring they liaise with the client in accordance with the safeguarding policy.

Role Criteria:

• Working knowledge of Facilities Management

• Full UK driving license

• Excellent communication

• Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Desirable: Some supervisory experience

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
