Job summary

Equals One seeks an experienced Working Supervisor to oversee Layher System scaffolding operations across Leeds and Yorkshire. You will lead on-site crews, supervise erection, modifications and dismantling, and ensure safe, efficient work to high standards.

The role is hands-on and requires a current Scaffolding card, SSSTS, and a valid UK driving licence. Weekend overtime may be available, with permanent employment and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience with Layher System Scaffolding.
• Previous experience supervising scaffolding crews.
• In-date Scaffolding CSCS card and SSSTS qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV licence would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise scaffolding crews on site.
• Hands-on supervision of day-to-day scaffolding operations.
• Oversee erection, alteration and dismantling of Layher System scaffolding.
• Ensure safety and adherence to site procedures.
• Carry out checks of scaffolding and Layher components.
• Coordinate with site management and other contractors.
• Plan workloads to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards on site.
• Identify and resolve issues on site.

Working Supervisor - Layher System Scaffolding

Location: Leeds and sites across Yorkshire - Driving licence essential

Full Time, Permanent

Monday to Friday, with weekend overtime available

We are recruiting on behalf of an established specialist contractor delivering high-quality scaffolding and access solutions across Yorkshire and beyond.

Working with clients across a range of commercial and construction projects, the business has built a strong reputation for safety, reliability and quality workmanship.

As part of their continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Working Supervisor with strong practical knowledge of Layher System Scaffolding to join their team.

This is a hands‑on supervisory role, so you will be working alongside the team while taking responsibility for the safe and efficient running of day‑to‑day scaffolding operations on site.

Role overview

You will supervise and support scaffolding crews carrying out the erection, modification and dismantling of Layher System scaffolding, making sure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supervising scaffolding teams on site
• Working hands‑on alongside the team when required
• Overseeing the erection, alteration and dismantling of Layher System scaffolding
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures
• Carrying out checks and inspections of scaffolding and Layher components
• Coordinating with site management and other contractors
• Planning workloads and helping the team meet project deadlines
• Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and housekeeping on site
• Identifying and resolving issues as they arise

About you

• Strong practical experience with Layher System Scaffolding
• Previous experience supervising or leading scaffolding teams
• An in‑date Scaffolding card
• SSSTS
• A good understanding of scaffolding safety standards and site procedures
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to lead by example and work well as part of a team
• A reliable and professional approach to work
• An HGV licence would be advantageous, but is not essential.
• Further training will be provided to support your development within the role.
