Job summary

Kingdom Cleaning is seeking a reliable Working Cleaning Supervisor to join the team at Richmond School in North Yorkshire. This permanent, hands-on supervisory role leads a small cleaning crew while performing duties to maintain high cleanliness, hygiene and safety.

The position supports an educational environment, creating a welcoming space for pupils, staff and visitors. 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri 15:30–18:30, £13.21/hour. DBS with Child Workforce is essential for employment.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning supervisory experience essential.
• Enhanced DBS with Child Workforce essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good Health & Safety and COSHH understanding.
• Experience in a school environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a small on-site cleaning team.
• Schedule team members and arrange cover for holidays and approved absences.
• Ensure classrooms, corridors, offices, and areas cleaned to a high standard.
• Dust, sanitise and clean surfaces throughout the site.
• Maintain hygiene with waste disposal areas.
• Ensure washrooms and welfare facilities are clean.
• Comply with Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Maintain records and complete reports.
• Monitor stock and reorder consumables.
• Ensure colour-coding procedures are followed.
• Support wider facilities and cleaning teams.
• Promote a safe, clean, secure environment in the school.

About the Role

Kingdom Cleaning is looking for a reliable, professional, and experienced Working Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at Richmond School, part of the Arete Learning Trust.

This is a permanent, hands-on supervisory position where you will lead a small cleaning team while carrying out cleaning duties yourself, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety are maintained throughout the school.

Working within an educational environment, you will play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming space for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting a small on-site cleaning team
• Scheduling team members and arranging cover for holidays and approved absences
• Ensuring all classrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas are cleaned to a high standard
• Dusting, sanitising, and cleaning surfaces and touchpoints throughout the site
• Emptying waste bins and maintaining hygienic waste disposal areas
• Cleaning and maintaining washrooms and welfare facilities
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and safe working practices
• Maintaining accurate records and completing daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Reordering cleaning consumables and monitoring stock levels
• Ensuring colour-coding procedures are followed by all team members
• Supporting the wider facilities and cleaning teams when required
• Promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment across the school
