Job Overview:
A prominent defense firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, from intake through settlement or trial. Duties:

  1. Manage all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation, from intake to settlement or trial.
  2. Prepare and file necessary legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  3. Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials as required.
  4. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts to facilitate case progress.
  5. Advise clients on legal options and strategies for resolving workers' compensation claims.
  6. Handle case management and ensure timely deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense or related legal field.
  2. Ability to manage a caseload independently.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated trial experience is preferred.
  5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
Active Bar membership in the state where practicing (California Bar preferred).

Skills:

  1. Strong litigation and case management skills.
  2. Ability to draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  3. Knowledge of applicable workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
