Workday Systems Manager
We are partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Workday Systems Manager to join there IT Operations team.
Role Overview:
- Work closely with teams across Technology, HR, and Finance to ensure that the Workday platform continues to support strategic and operational goals. Identify and prioritise enhancement opportunities by gathering cross-functional input, and oversee the delivery of updates and improvements through agile delivery cycles, ensuring they are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of Workday functionality (spanning deployment, setup, enhancement, and support) by partnering with relevant business units to gather technical requirements, develop configuration plans, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Promote a strong engineering culture through the implementation of structured development practices, including adherence to coding guidelines, rigorous testing protocols, and clear documentation. Embed continuous learning practices through retrospectives and process reviews. Maintain awareness of data protection principles such as GDPR and embed them in development work.
- Track and report on the performance, usage, and compliance posture of the Workday environment, taking a proactive approach to issue detection and platform optimisation.
- Develop and maintain detailed internal documentation relating to Workday processes, configurations, and automated workflows to support transparency and future scalability.
- Lead resolution efforts for complex system issues, applying advanced troubleshooting methods and root cause analysis to ensure lasting solutions and service reliability.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience aligning Workday functionality with broader organisational and IT strategies by gathering business requirements and coordinating cross-functional collaboration across HR, Finance, and Technology.
- Strong track record of managing continuous improvements within Workday, using agile methodologies to deliver enhancements and configurations on time and within resource constraints.
- Hands-on experience with the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of Workday modules, including the ability to interpret business processes and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Deep understanding of structured development practices, including version control, code quality standards, test planning, and clear technical documentation, with an ongoing commitment to process improvement and operational excellence.
- Working knowledge of compliance and governance frameworks such as GDPR, with the ability to assess and manage risk within a cloud-based HR/Finance application ecosystem.
- Ability to monitor Workday system performance, ensure effective usage, and maintain platform reliability through proactive management and health checks.
- Skilled in developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, process maps, and support materials to guide internal teams and end users.
- Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex Workday-related issues, performing in-depth root cause analysis, and driving continuous service enhancement.
