Job description

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant to lead the test execution efforts for a Workday payroll implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining parallel payroll test processes, leading payroll cutover activities, executing test scenarios, and analyzing parallel test results to ensure a smooth transition to the new payroll system. A good understanding of Workday HCM, Time, Benefits, and compensation is a must.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Test Execution: Drive and manage the end-to-end test execution effort for Workday Payroll, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
  2. Define Parallel Payroll Testing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive parallel payroll testing strategy to compare legacy and Workday payroll results accurately.
  3. Execute Test Scenarios: Design, document, and execute test scenarios, including functional, integration, and end-to-end payroll testing.
  4. Payroll Cutover Planning & Execution: Lead payroll cutover activities, ensuring a seamless transition from the legacy payroll system to Workday Payroll.
  5. Analyse Parallel Test Results: Compare payroll calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings between legacy and Workday payroll systems, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
  6. Defect Management: Identify, log, and track defects, working closely with payroll, HR, and IT teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HR, payroll, finance, and IT teams to align payroll testing strategies with business requirements.
  8. Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure payroll processes comply with local regulations and adhere to industry best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Workday Payroll Expertise: Proven experience in Workday Payroll implementation, with a strong understanding of payroll processing, configuration, and testing methodologies.
  2. Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience in leading payroll test execution, including parallel payroll testing, cutover planning, and test scenario creation.
  3. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently.
  4. Project Leadership: Experience leading testing efforts within a Workday payroll implementation, managing timelines, risks, and stakeholders effectively.
  5. Technical & Functional Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll integrations, compliance, and statutory requirements.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
