Job summary

Coreteam is seeking a Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking Capability Lead to scale the Workday PATT capability across projects and AMS. You will own the technical direction, delivery quality, people development, utilisation, and financial performance of the PATT pod, while partnering with senior leadership to drive capability maturity and growth.

• Oversee planning, execution and delivery of Workday Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking projects.

• Provide guidance and thought leadership within the capability areas.
• Act as primary client contact, maintaining relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
• Guide design, configuration and implementation of Workday solutions and AMS offerings.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project specs.
• Disseminate knowledge and prepare collateral for bi-annual Workday releases.
• Allocate tasks and manage pod resources to optimise efficiency.
• Manage consultant utilisation rates and KPIs, including pod P&L.
• Assess pod member strengths/weaknesses for staffing allocations.
• Assist with business growth and pre-sales activities, including proposals.
• Identify and mitigate risks to keep projects on track.
• Encourage continuous improvement and skills development.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, risks, and issues.
• Set performance expectations, conduct quarterly reviews and career development.
• Deliver timely performance appraisals and training plans.
• Manage timesheets and ensure weekly submissions for month-end.

Role Purpose:

The Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking Capability Lead is responsible for leading and scaling the Workday PATT capability across project delivery and AMS. This role owns the technical direction, delivery quality, people development, utilisation, and financial performance of the PATT pod, while partnering with senior leadership to drive capability maturity and business growth.

This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people, commercial, and strategic accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be a brand ambassador and reflect company values at all times.
• Manage and lead a team of Workday Payroll, Absence & Time Tracking consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.
• Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of Workday Payroll, Absence &Time Tracking projects.
• Carry and maintain at least 2 Workday partner certifications from the capability areas mentioned above, as well as gain and expand knowledge in all capability areas mentioned above.
• Provide guidance, thought leadership and subject matter expertise within the capability areas mentioned above.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction with Workday solutions.
• Guide the design, configuration and implementation of Workday solutions, and Application Managed Service (AMS) offerings, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry best practices.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications.
• Ensure that adequate knowledge is disseminated, and collateral is prepared to provide clients with guidance around the bi‑annual Workday releases.
• Allocate tasks and manage resources within the pod to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Proactively manage and enhance consultant utilisation rates that are assigned to your pod.
• Proactively manage and meet all KPIs set by the business, including the P&L management of your pod.
• Have a deep understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the pod members and work with the senior management and operations team in ensuring staffing allocations to projects and AMS clients will produce the highest levels of success.
• Assist the senior management team with business growth within existing accounts and support Pre‑Sales activities for potential new clients including the ability to effectively estimate and assist with building proposals for the relevant capability areas mentioned above across both project delivery and AMS.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, addressing issues promptly to keep projects on track.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, risks and issues.
• Manage the team expectations, targets, training needs and development.
• Define and document objectives for pod members and conduct performance discussions quarterly.
• Set and manage performance expectations, coach and mentor employees.
• Deliver on time performance appraisals and develop training and career plans for pod members.
• Manage pod members time‑off submissions, working together with project managers and service delivery managers to ensure delivery teams are adequately staffed at all times.
• Ensure effective deployment of skills and resources within a globally distributed team.
• Interview, hire and retain consultants in the above capability areas to ensure the business can effectively meet client’s needs.
• Manage poor performance within the pod.
• Ensure all consultant timesheets working across your pod are submitted on a weekly basis and in time for month end.

Skills:

• 5+ years of experience with Workday Time Tracking, Absence & Payroll implementations.
• Strong team management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Extensive experience in the successful end to end delivery of Workday projects within the capability areas mentioned above.
• Experience in ensuring Workday projects are delivered to time and budgets.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Strong client management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent data analysis skills, Excel and Power point presentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization.
• Team player that embraces change and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote delivery environment both as an individual and as part of a globally distributed team.
