Job summary

Freshfields is seeking a Workday Integration Developer to join our Application Platforms team. You’ll design, build and maintain Workday integrations, connecting HCM processes with Payroll, Finance and data platforms to enable scalable, reliable HR technology across the firm.

You’ll act as a Workday SME, collaborate with HR, Technology and partners, manage data flows, oversee API management, and contribute to continuous improvement through release governance and training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Workday Core HCM and related modules.
• Strong understanding of HR processes and data flows.
• Expertise in Workday Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite), EIBs and calculated fields.
• Hands-on experience with Workday integrations (Studio, Core Connectors and related tools).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and maintain Workday integrations (APIs, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, RaaS and Studio/Orchestrate).
• Manage data flows between Workday and downstream systems (Payroll, Finance, IAM, data platforms).
• Oversee API management (SOAP/REST) and integration platform operations; resolve issues and ensure performance.
• Deploy and maintain integrations to external apps and data warehouses; manage encryption and security.
• Act as a Workday subject matter expert; translate user stories into technical requirements.
• Escalate, troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of integration issues; implement corrective actions.
• Lead release management for integrations, including regression testing and break/fix.
• Maintain data integrity through audits and system maintenance for downstream apps.
• Stay current with Workday releases and industry best practices; drive continuous improvement.
• Support training and change management related to Workday enhancements; mentor HRIS team.
