Workday HCM Consultant | £600/day | Outside IR35 | Central London (Hybrid) | 6-Month Rolling Contract

Our client, a fast-growing consultancy, is seeking an experienced Workday HCM Consultant to join a major Workday transformation programme. This is a 6-month rolling contract, paying £600 per day (outside IR35), with a hybrid working model based in Central London (2-3 days on-site per week).

Role Overview:

As a key member of the programme team, you will take ownership of the Workday HCM workstream, working closely with business stakeholders, SMEs, and the SI partner to ensure the effective design, configuration, and adoption of standard Workday functionality. This role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and ideal for someone who can balance detail with strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis, design, and documentation of end-to-end HCM business processes – not just those within Workday, but across the full HR landscape.
  • Support configuration workbook population and help guide SMEs through data and decision points related to Workday setup.
  • Collaborate with the SI to ensure solutions make the best use of standard Workday configuration, challenging deviations where necessary.
  • Push back on business requirements that fall outside of standard Workday capabilities, promoting an adopt-not-adapt approach.
  • Support testing activities, including test scenario preparation and execution, working alongside a dedicated Test Manager.
  • Assist the Change Manager with input into training material development and end-user preparation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Workday HCM Consultant or ERP Business Analyst on large-scale HCM implementations.

    • Absence
  • Minimum of 2 full lifecycle Workday HCM deployments.
  • Solid understanding of Workday configuration and deployment methodology, including:
    • Business processes
    • Custom validations
    • Configuration workbooks
    • Account posting rules (as applicable)
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence both the business and SI delivery partner.
  • Hands-on, proactive mindset, with the ability to support SMEs across config, testing, and adoption.
