Job summary

Connells Group UK is seeking a Workday HCM, Compensation and Absence Analyst to join the AMS team. You will configure and maintain Workday modules, support business users, and drive improvements across HR and Reward processes.

The role involves collaborating with HR, Payroll and IT, delivering tested changes, and supporting Workday releases while maintaining documentation and data quality. Hybrid role with one day weekly in Milton Keynes office.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or configuring Workday HCM, Compensation, and/or Absence.
• Knowledge of Workday business processes, configuration, and testing principles.
• Experience working with HR/Reward stakeholders to support requirements.
• Experience investigating and resolving Workday support issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide configuration and support for Workday HCM, Absence, and Compensation modules.

Workday HCM, Compensation and Absence Analyst

We are seeking a WorkdayHCM, Compensation and Absence Analyst to join our Workday Application Management Support (AMS) team. You will support the configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Workday HCM, Absence, Compensation and related modules. Working closely with HR, Reward, Payroll, and business stakeholders, you will help ensure Workday effectively supports business processes, delivers a positive employee experience, and remains aligned with organisational requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with solid Workday functional experience who enjoys problem-solving, system configuration, and supporting business users while developing their expertise across Workday.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 1 day per week in our Milton Keynes office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide functional support and configuration for Workday HCM, Absence, and Compensation modules.
• Support the administration and optimisation of absence plans, leave types, accruals, carry-over rules, and related business processes.
• Assist with the configuration and delivery of compensation review processes, including annual salary reviews, merit cycles, and bonus planning.
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating HR and Reward needs into Workday solutions.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve Workday issues, escalating where appropriate.
• Support testing activities for system enhancements, fixes, Workday releases, and business-led changes.
• Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased automation.
• Help manage support requests, ensuring issues and enhancements are tracked and resolved within agreed timeframes.
• Support Workday releases by reviewing new functionality, assessing impacts, and assisting with testing activities.
• Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and knowledge articles.
• Support reporting requirements through Workday reports, dashboards, and data analysis.
• Perform data maintenance activities including EIB uploads and validation exercises.
• Collaborate with HR, Reward, Payroll, IT, and third-party partners to support ongoing system improvements.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Experience supporting or configuring Workday HCM, Compensation, and/or Absence.
• Good understanding of Workday business processes, configuration, and testing principles.
• Experience working with HR and Reward stakeholders to support business requirements.
• Experience investigating and resolving Workday support issues.
• Experience creating and loading EIBs.
• Knowledge of Workday reporting, dashboards, or data analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Workday certification in HCM, Compensation, Absence, or related modules.
• Experience supporting annual compensation review processes within Workday.
• Experience supporting Workday releases and regression testing.
• Familiarity with Workday Report Writer and calculated fields.
• Understanding of Workday integrations and downstream impacts to Payroll, Benefits, or other connected systems.
