Work Placement Coach

  • Reporting to: Work Placement Team Leader
  • Salary: 26,994

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Peterborough.

Role Purpose

  • Act as a key liaison between learners, curriculum teams, and employers to secure meaningful work placements.
  • Lead on employer engagement and placement planning to meet learning objectives and college targets.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and documentation requirements are completed before, during, and after placements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with curriculum staff to identify placement needs and match learners accordingly.
  • Promote and prepare learners for work placements through tutorials, workshops, and learning platforms.
  • Carry out risk assessments and employer health and safety checks in line with college policy
  • Manage all placement documentation, including learner profiles, parental consent, and DBS checks where applicable.
  • Maintain strong external relationships with employers, generating new leads and opportunities.
  • Monitor placement progress, gather feedback, and support learners and employers throughout the process.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications, including Level 3 and minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C including English and Maths).
  • Experience supporting young people and liaising with employers in an educational or training environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding policies, workplace risk assessments, and health & safety.
  • Full right to work in the UK, with a clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
