Job summary

Airbus Protect is seeking an experienced RAMS Project Manager to lead UK Space activities. The successful candidate will manage technical projects, ensure safety and quality in deliverables, and contribute to business development efforts. As part of our International Space team, you will work on Management, Development & Implementation of our UK Space activities related to our core experiences within AIRBUS as Risks, Safety, Design Assurance, Incidents follow-up…

Tasks and Responsibilities :

Your main activities will be to take charge of tasks in a hybrid position:

  • Management of RAMS Space projects,

  • Realization of RAMS activities as a technical consultant,

  • Business development of the UK space domain.

Management of RAMS Space projects:

  • Close relationship between HO and WPL: share actual & previsional needs, share solutions & tasks assignments, …

  • Design activities: ensure the availability of the technical requirements & product data, validate the perimeter of the activities and the analysis level

  • Develop & implement activities: follow-up the progress of the activity (technical review, reports,...)

  • Organize the validation & quality activities: follow-up of the proof-reading loop

  • Monitor, control & report the progress of the activities to HO Airbus Defense & Space and HO Airbus Protect

  • Internal customer relationship: discussions with Airbus counterparts, meetings,...

  • Deliver activities & launch the invoices.

Realization of RAMS activities as a technical consultant

  • Extensive experience: 5-8 years of proven experience in RAMS engineering, with a strong focus on space systems and a deep understanding of mission-critical requirements.

  • Technical mastery: In-depth knowledge of space system architectures, subsystems, and operational environments.

  • Analytical expertise: Proficiency in advanced RAMS methodologies, including reliability/availability modeling and analysis (e.g.: MIL-HDBK-217F, FIDES)., FMECA, Hazard & safety analysis,...

  • Contribution to trade-offs, interacting with the project team/system engineering, participation in regular project meetings, etc.

Business development of the UK space domain.

  • Business development: Contribute to the sourcing activity, manage the tendering and the contract negotiation to achieve the best purchasing conditions in accordance with Company requirements.

[Business travel is expected, you will need to be willing to travel accordingly]

  • Engineering school or university degree in aerospace domain.

  • Strong knowledge in :

    • Project Management

    • Dependability in Space Domain

Experience required:

  • University degree in Engineering

  • At least 5 years experience in Aeronautical engineering, ideally in the field of Safety and CA engineering

  • Experience of Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (ARP 5150 (Safety Assessment of Commercial Airplanes), Part-21A.3, Part-M (Continuing Airworthiness Requirements), CS 25.1309)

  • Good knowledge of Aircraft Systems, in particular, Landing Gear and hydraulic systems

  • Experience in the Landing Gear perimeter

  • Track record of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and staff members, with delivery to Time, Cost and Quality

  • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success

We need someone who has/is:

  • Strong ability lead and manage a project team (i.e Work Package management);

  • Team player, keen to share their knowledge and work collaboratively within a fairly small team;

  • Customer centric and able to build relationships in a matrix environment;

  • You have very good communication and negotiation skills;

  • You are autonomous, curious, proactive, rigorous, with great attention to detail;

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

  • This position requires a security clearance or requires eligibility for clearance by recognised UK authorities
