Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd, recruiting on behalf of a client, seeks a reliable Production Operative for a rural, manufacturing site. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to lack of public transport. You will read drawings, operate woodworking machinery, and assemble timber packaging to customer specs.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment. Training will cover safety procedures and proper tool use.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Experience in manufacturing/production or woodworking desirable.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings or willingness to learn.
• Physically fit for manual handling duties.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture bespoke timber pallets, wire-bound containers, and export cases to customer specifications.
• Interpret and work from CAD designs and technical drawings.
• Operate woodworking machinery, including saws, safely and efficiently.
• Use air-powered nail guns and a variety of handheld tools to assemble wooden cases and crates.
• Carry out manual assembly of bespoke timber packaging products.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
• Follow all health and safety procedures within the manufacturing environment.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe.
