Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd on behalf of a family-run manufacturer in Bolton is seeking a Wood Machinist / CNC Operative. The role is full-time and permanent, offering £15 per hour depending on experience, with overtime available.

You will work on bespoke timber handrails for high-end projects, handling ripsawing, cross-cutting, bandsawing, planing exotic hardwoods, lamination, and loading/unloading the CNC router with air-powered tools on a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in woodworking and machining.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials by ripsawing, cross-cutting, bandsawing and planing hardwoods.
• Laminate materials using adhesives before machining.
• Load and unload the CNC router using air-powered tools.
• Operate the 5-axis CNC router with predefined programs and control speeds.
• Perform general workshop duties and ensure quality of raw materials.
