Job description

Job Role: Wood Machinist
Location: Leicester, LE1

Type: Permanent, Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: Up to 14 DOE, Overtime rate paid at x1.25 in week and x1.5 on Saturday.
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7.30pam to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.30pm.

Our Client:

An established joinery company in the Leicester area are recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to join their team. This role would suit someone from a traditional joinery background as the work is quite specific however training will be provided to candidates that show the right skills and abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operating wood machinery in a safe manner
  • Working from technical drawings to produce timber door frames
  • Undertake various tasks in the workshop as required
  • Follow health and safety guidelines
  • Keep the workspace clean, tidy and hazard free

The Wood Machinist Candidate:

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will be required to have the following experience:-

Must be time served & hold the correct joinery qualifications NVQ or diploma or City & Guilds

Must have experience of operating Mortice & Tenoner and Spindle Moulder machines

Used to working with specification drawings and understanding design requirements

Willingness to undertake various tasks in the workshop as required

Able to work as part of a small team

Physically fit with good timekeeping

Have a passion for joinery and carpentry
