Job summary

Galaxy Personnel is recruiting for a Production Operative in Bishop Stortford to assemble crates and packing cases from timber and plywood. You will operate power saws, nail guns, drills and other hand tools, with forklift handling as needed.

The role involves on-site packing for customers and occasional local deliveries. The position is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday days, 8 hours, with training on tools and safety, a company pension, and parking provisions.

Qualifications

• Role requires physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items.
• Experience with using power tools and moving crates is preferred.
• Forklift experience and a driving licence are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and produce crates, packing cases and pallets from timber and plywood.
• Operate power saws and nail guns.
• Use drills and other hand tools.
• Cut foam for crate inserts.
• Operate forklift.
• On-site packing for customers.
• Deliver to local customers when required.
• Maintain high quality and health & safety standards.
• Perform heavy lifting as required.
• Work in a physical, varied environment.
• Collaborate with clients to meet packaging requirements.
• Assist with project planning and material handling.
