Job summary

Gap Personnel is seeking an experienced CNC Operative / Programmer in the Heathfield area to program, set and operate CNC wood-routing machinery to produce high-quality parts. This permanent role offers 40 hours per week and a competitive salary.

You will handle programming, setting and operation, tooling changes, first-piece inspections, and continuous improvement while maintaining production records in a hands-on team environment.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a CNC role.
• Practical knowledge of CNC wood routers.
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Good knowledge of tooling and manufacturing materials.
• Confidence using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Disciplined, quality-focused approach and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC wood routers.
• Producing new products and completing varied machining work.
• Changing tooling and adjusting machine controls as required.
• Completing first-piece inspections and quality checks.
• Using precision measuring equipment to identify faults.
• Monitoring work in progress and making prompt adjustments.
• Editing CNC programs to improve efficiency and performance.
• Ensuring machines run reliably and meet production targets.
• Maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
