Job Description:

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a Designer to join the team and be responsible for the design of Pringle of Scotland Womenswear Wovens.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Womenswear Wovens within the Pringle design team.
  • Prepare range and presentation boards for reviews and meetings. Create presentation materials for product sign-off. Keep design team updated.
  • Be prepared with proto samples, reference samples, fabric swatches, sketches, and pantones during design meetings.
  • Create flat technical sketches and packs for design development.
  • Manage and maintain all information through to final approval.
  • Manage seasonal range sheets and ensure they are updated and accurate.
  • Suggest colour directions to balance product and collections.
  • Review and approve proto samples with the technical team.

Colour and Fabric Research & Development:

  • Develop seasonal colour boards, staying aware of market trends and brand stories.
  • Research and source fabrics, yarns, and wovens, collaborating with sourcing and suppliers.
  • Select fabrics, trims, and colours for styles based on mood boards.
  • Develop standards for the internal material library.
  • Work with technical team to ensure accurate tech packs and provide feedback.
  • Adhere to seasonal timelines and coordinate with teams and suppliers.
  • Update VRPs and CADs; resolve calendar issues.
  • Approve fabric samples and lab dips, providing clear feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas offices and suppliers.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Experience at designer level for premium lifestyle fashion brands.
  • Proficiency in illustration, MAC, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe CC.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of brand strategies and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong design, conceptual, colour, and print skills.
  • Ability to understand target customers and design to briefs.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work creatively in a fast-paced environment.
