Job summary

REISS is seeking a Pattern Cutter to bring collections to life by creating and developing high-quality patterns across multiple categories. You’ll translate concepts into accurate patterns, collaborating with Design, Garment Technology and Sample Machinists to achieve the desired fit and aesthetic.

You’ll combine strong technical expertise with fabric and construction knowledge, developing products from concept through toile to final sample in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Pattern Cutter in fashion across multiple product categories.
• Strong technical knowledge of pattern cutting with Gerber CAD or similar.
• Able to work from designer sketches and draping on the stand to develop patterns.
• Understanding of fabrics, garment construction and how fabrications affect fit and pattern development.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Collaborative team player who communicates with Designers, Garment Technologists and Sample Machinists.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop patterns through draping and CAD, translating sketches into high-quality patterns.
• Fit toiles with Designers, understand creative vision, and amend patterns as needed.
• Review and develop blocks to stay aligned with current style, fit and quality standards.
• Create layplans and calculate fabric consumption, check main range and petite patterns for accuracy.
• Coordinate with Print team to engineer print placements on patterns.
• Prepare patterns, fabrics and information for in-house sample machinists and local suppliers.
• Support Garment Technologist team during sample development, providing technical advice and amending patterns, including fit sessions.
• Assist in running the pattern room, manage workload and maintain an organised environment.
