Changing Lives in Newcastle is seeking a dedicated night support worker to join the Cumberland House team. You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to residents and work as part of a small, friendly team.

The post involves supporting 12 women facing homelessness and related challenges, requiring compassion, active listening, and a collaborative approach. Shifts are in a rolling rota, with weekdays 22:00–08:00 and weekends 20:00–08:00.

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women and young people.

About the Job

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic night support worker to join our small, friendly team.

At Cumberland House, we support 12 women who have experienced homelessness, and provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to all who live with us. The women we support may face a wide range of challenges, including active addiction, sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, and mental health struggles.

The right person for this role will be compassionate, non-judgemental, with strong active listening skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Night support workers at Cumberland House work three shifts on, three shifts off in a rolling rota pattern. Week day shifts are 10pm-8am, and weekend shifts are 8pm-8am.

Please note, due to the nature of this role, only female applicants need apply.
