Red Snapper Recruitment is seeking a Women's Accommodation Criminal Justice Key Worker to join an award-winning charity supporting women and girls across Yorkshire and Humberside.

Team and Location

Team: WY Criminal Justice Team
Base: Leeds

Job Details

• Grade: 28,266
• Hours: 37 per week
• Leave: 25 days, increasing to 30 days with service, plus public holidays
• Reports To: Leeds Centre Manager

Essential Requirements

Level 1 probation vetting within the last 24 months, completed within West Yorkshire.

Role Summary

This role involves providing holistic, gender-specific support to women in our centres, helping them overcome challenges related to wellbeing, mental health, accommodation, finances, employment, family, social inclusion, and recovery. The key worker will support women on Probation, focusing on the Accommodation pathway across West Yorkshire, working with centres in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, and HMP Newhall.

Responsibilities

• Engage with and support women to access and sustain safe, affordable accommodation.
• Collaborate with external agencies to extend support services.
• Encourage women to utilize existing resources and develop new opportunities.
• Work independently and as part of a dispersed team, including community and office-based work.
• Provide in-reach support to women in custody if required.

Experience and Skills

• Experience with complex accommodation issues and supporting women in this sector.
• Knowledge of housing law and debt advice.
• Advocacy experience with external agencies.
• Teamwork and collaborative skills.
• Experience in a Criminal Justice System setting and working with vulnerable women is desirable.
