Job description

Women's Recovery Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Practitioner, specialising in supporting a caseload of vulnerable women, to join a substance misuse charity on an initial temporary basis.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience dealing with substance misuse issues and is looking to advance their career within an organisation that supports personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist clients upon joining the programme and identify the best course of action for their recovery.
  2. Minimise the harm caused by drugs and alcohol to clients and the community.
  3. Act as an advocate for partnership services.
  4. Support service users with their social (re)integration to enable them to lead meaningful lives, encouraging self-determination, resilience, and recovery.
  5. Facilitate group sessions providing structured information at different stages of recovery.
Experience Required:
  1. Thorough understanding of substance misuse issues or previous experience in a related field.
  2. Knowledge of drug and alcohol services, interventions, and best practices.
  3. Ability to manage change effectively while prioritising service users’ interests.
  4. Understanding of information governance procedures and commitment to safety measures.
