WOMEN'S RECRUITMENT LEAD (WOMEN'S FIRST TEAM)

The Role

You will lead the development and delivery of a women’s first-team Player Recruitment Strategy, informed by data and insights, with the primary aim of identifying and acquiring players who can help us compete for and win trophies. This role sits at the intersection of the women’s football and scouting departments, applying club models to the unique aspects of the women’s game.

Key Responsibilities

Scouting


  • Produce and maintain a comprehensive target database, including contract details and estimated market values.
  • Attend and observe all key targets, both domestic and international.
  • Effectively plan and organise a scouting calendar.
  • Understand and fully comply with rules and codes of conduct for scouts, upholding the highest standards of integrity and club values.


Strategy and Data Management


  • Conduct in-depth research on leagues and players; stay up to date with industry developments and player movements.
  • Provide critical support for squad planning, including identifying and assessing potential targets, considering salary structures, optimal playing ages, and work permit feasibility.
  • Produce detailed player reports and dossiers using relevant digital platforms, with executive summaries for senior management.
  • Design and implement a clear process covering player identification through to exit.


Relationship Management


  • Enhance visibility internally and externally with key stakeholders, including agents.
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of contacts, especially with agents and partner clubs.
  • Identify clubs for potential player development partnerships.
  • Collaborate with relevant MUWFC members to ensure alignment across recruitment practices, reporting and methodology.


The Person:

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has


  • Deep knowledge of players capable of competing in the UWCL.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and delivering recruitment strategies.
  • Experience working within a professional football club.
  • Proven experience in the women’s professional game and strong connections with key agencies.
  • Strong IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant scouting software (e.g., Wyscout, iSF, Scout7).
  • Ability to make sound decisions promptly, with a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, with extensive domestic and occasional international travel as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in a team, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and resilience under pressure.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications and proven experience demonstrating an understanding of the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological demands of professional football and talent identification.
  • Talent Identification / Scouting qualifications.
