Job description

Lead and manage the goalkeeping coaching across the Women's first team; ensuring coaching, welfare and education philosophies are upheld in line with the Women's Performance Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and lead on all goalkeeper coaching, always promoting good practice.
  • Work with the First Team Head Coach to set targets and outcomes in line with the Women's Performance Plan.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff across the Club.
  • Ensure coaching files for goalkeepers are maintained and up to date, including relevant Individual Development Plans(IDP).
  • Ensure timely and accurate updating of player information on the Women's player management system.
  • Liaise effectively and work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team across the Women's and other departments of the club where required.
  • Lead on goalkeeper recruitment in-line with the First Team Head Coach, and ensure relationships with partner clubs are maintained when including Goalkeepers on dual-registrations.
  • Support on set piece design and implementation, including leading set pieces on a matchday.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support match preparation.
  • Collaborate with the MDT staff to ensure the players' physical conditioning, nutrition, and overall wellbeing are addressed.
  • Carry out regular performance reviews with subordinates in line with Company guidelines.

  • Be an ambassador of the Group, providing excellent customer service at all times whilst portraying a professional image both internally and externally.
  • Treat all colleagues as customers, ensuring respectful, positive outcomes across all communications.
  • Adhere to and abide by all BWFC policies, procedures and guidelines, especially remembering responsibilities to others under Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity.
  • Perform other duties as required, which are considered relevant to the role and to the objectives of BWFC.
About The Candidate

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Hold a minimum of a UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence.
  • Significant experience of working in a professional football club.
  • Experience of working with female athletes.
  • Be a member or intend to become a member of the FA Licensed Coaching Club.
  • Hold in date and valid FA Safeguarding Children and Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) or Emergency Aid (EFAiF) certification.
  • Customer focus:Develops and maintains knowledge of the needs of customers and focuses energy and efforts on meeting these needs.
  • Effective communication:Communicates confidently and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Team working:Supports others in the achievementof their objectives.
