Job description

Job Description:

Purpose: The purpose of this role is to contribute to a winning women’s first team by developing Goalkeepers from its youth pathway. This will be achieved by creating the most successful girls’ academy by:

  • Revolutionising the way we nurture and maximise the potential of every Goalkeeper involved in our pathway.
  • Create a world-class environment.
  • Stretch and challenge Goalkeepers to maximize potential.

The Role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality training sessions.
  • Plan and prepare for each match with particular emphasis on the needs of each individual GK.
  • Always adhere to the Manchester United development & coaching ‘Redprint’ philosophy.
  • Engage fully in CPD events organised internally and externally.
  • Support player welfare.
  • Plan and deliver set play roles for match days.
  • Contribute towards a positive working environment.
  • Work effectively in conjunction with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s safeguarding policy.
  • Potential hours: Monday 11am-7pm, Tuesday 11am-7pm, Wednesday – U21s Fixture, Friday 10am – 6pm, Saturday 8:45am-12:30pm.

The Person:

  • Want to make a positive difference to young people.
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, and reliable.
  • People skills: self-assured, able to build rapport, empathise with others, emotionally intelligent, approachable.
  • Understanding of safeguarding best practices.
  • Knowledge of implementing policies and procedures, especially health and safety and risk assessments.

Knowledge:

  • Of the Women and Girls game.
  • Goalkeeping principles.
  • Set play profiling and responsibility in training and match days.

Experience:

  • Delivering goalkeeper-specific sessions to various age groups.
  • Working with elite Goalkeepers.

Skills:

  • Ability to motivate and inspire female Goalkeepers.
  • Deliver professional and high-quality goalkeeper sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Goalkeeping B Licence.
  • Emergency First Aid in Football qualification.
  • Valid Safeguarding Children certificate.
  • FA Youth Modules (Desirable).
