An established college rowing club in Oxford is seeking a passionate Women's Assistant Coach to join their competitive team. This role involves coaching weekly outings, assisting the head coach with training plans, and supporting rowers in skill development. Ideal candidates will have prior coaching experience or strong rowing skills and be available for flexible coaching hours throughout the year. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vibrant rowing community and help athletes achieve their competitive goals. If you are dedicated to fostering talent and enjoy the thrill of competitive rowing, this role is perfect for you.
Wolfson College Boat Club seeks a qualified assistant coach to coach weekly outings, assist our head coach in developing training plans, and support our squad in developing their rowing skills further.
We are looking for a coach that is available to coach between two and five outings per week. Outings will either take place in the early (6:15-8:00am) or in the late slot (7:50-9:30am). Ideally, we would be looking for someone that is available in both of those time slots.
We are one of the most competitive college clubs on the river and provide a strong training programme for around 40 active rowers on the women's side. For bumps campaigns, we typically have three to four boats racing. Currently, all four of our boats have a starting position in the senior divisions. We are looking for someone that can support us in our ambitious, highly competitive pursuits for bumps racing.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with prior coaching experience or strong rowing experience, and someone who can both coach novice and senior outings. We train all year round (not only in term time) and attend many regattas outside of term time. Ideally, we would be looking for someone that could support us throughout the whole year and fits into our culture.
To apply for this position, please send a short paragraph introducing yourself and your coaching/rowing experience (cover letter) and a CV to the women’s captains at atwolfsonwomenbc@gmail.com.
