Job Description:

The Wildcat Delivery Team (WDT) are recruiting a new member at the Home of British Helicopters. As a WIST Engines Controller, working closely with a team of dedicated professionals, you will strive to maximise the potential of Wildcat to achieve, or exceed, flying hour targets.

These roles don’t become available very often and, as a key member of the Wildcat Integrated Support and Training (WIST) team, you will manage the availability and sustainment of WIST Engines and associated spares under the contract, ensuring a successful service delivery is achieved in accordance with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), whilst ensuring optimisation of inventory.

As the primary interface with the MOD for all WIST Engine logistics issues, you will collaborate across Leonardo, to ensure the service is successfully delivered. You will support the customer to ensure the engine allotment process is as efficient and effective as possible and provide maximum asset availability, whilst driving to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction through successful service delivery.

You will need to stay tuned into business developments in this role, and be able to evaluate the potential impact caused by changes in capability, operations, processes or trends by either the MOD or the company and facilitating the flow of this information.

What you will do as a WIST Engines Controller

  • Be the prime Material focal point with the MOD for CTS800 Engine and engine component asset availability management.
  • Responsible for the following tasks:
    • Management of Engine Repair Contract.
    • Point of Contact (POC) with Procurement for all Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) contractual requirements.
    • Travel to and from main Vendor LHTEC and sub vendors as required.
    • Prepare specific reports, briefs and presentations as required.
    • Provide support to Engine related DSP requirements.
    • Ensure that Engine and Engine Component Special to Type Container (STC's) are available as required.
    • Manage specific contractual Engine requirements such as Spares and R&O Caps.
  • Ensure strong working relationships are established and maintained with all MOD stakeholders to deliver the spares service. Functional areas include the WDT, Second Customers, Embarked Aviation (EmbAv), On Site Support Teams (OSST), Engineering Design Authority (EDA) and Logistics provider, K&N at Yeovilton Stores LH core business.
  • Provide specialist logistics support to assist in the resolution of urgent supply requirements, inabilities and state demands by expediting delivery or repair of assets through LH core business teams in conjunction with the Priority Progression Cell (PPC). Where necessary escalate priority issues through to the SLICT Manager.
  • Establish a good working relationship with Engine workshop personnel at Yeovilton to support all associated activities and ensure that all required outputs are delivered.
  • Provide timely advice to the SLICT Manager concerning potential supply deficiencies, critical stock shortages or inabilities or other matters requiring resolution at a senior management level.
  • Attend all engine specific meetings with customer and wider team.
  • Process and provide support to requirements for manual and first time demands. Where applicable progress demands in accordance with the introduction of parts to the spares solution via the Master Parts List (MPL).

What you’ll bring

  • Have a sound knowledge of the customers organisation structure, processes and procedures.
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of the Customer’s systems – Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and Base Warehouse Inventory Management System (BWIMS) .
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the Material supply process from Supplier to Customer.
  • Have 2 years’ experience in a supply related business / military discipline.
  • Possess a detailed operating knowledge of LH supply process and systems – SAP & Optimiza.
  • Be a capable communicator with the ability to interface with all levels of the WDT and LH.
  • Have the ability to interface and influence within the customer and company domain.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct multi-discipline discussions.
  • Maintain a degree of awareness of the roles of the aircraft including spares and product knowledge.
  • Be adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of a Service Delivery environment.
