Job summary

Winter casual driver

Ringway is looking for qualified casual HGV drivers to undertake local authority gritting and ploughing. Work is offered on a zero-hours contract through the winter, operating on a rota, with standby while you're on call.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience driving large goods vehicles (LGV/HGV).
• Experience of winter maintenance, highways, construction, or similar operational environments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Specialist Skills

• HGV Class C, up-to-date Driver CPC, and City & Guilds Winter Service Operations 6159, including Units 613 and 680

General Competencies

• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Reliable and dependable with good attendance.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Flexible approach to working patterns and emergency response requirements.
