Job DescriptionSenior Wintel Engineer (x2) (Chef Automation) – Remote – 6M

Overview:
Our client, based in eastern EUis seeking two Senior Wintel Engineers to join their Cloud Platform team. This is a high-impact role focused on automating patch management, vulnerability remediation, and enforcing CIS compliance within an on-premise environment.

You’ll be working on a key project stream (CSVM), helping to shape and streamline infrastructure management processes using Chef for configuration automation. This is a fully remote opportunity with immediate start available (UK, EUremote)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Chef Cookbooks for automating patching and compliance activities
  
  
• Implement infrastructure automation solutions in a Wintel server environment
  
  
• Support ongoing vulnerability remediation and CIS compliance initiatives
  
  
• Collaborate with cloud and security stakeholders across the platform team
  
  
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation
  
  

Must-Have Experience:

• Proven expertise with Chef (this is non-negotiable)
  
  
• Strong experience in Wintel engineering within enterprise environments
  
  
• Solid understanding of patch management, compliance frameworks, and automation workflows
  
  
• Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional remote teams
  
  

Nice-to-Have:

• Exposure to large-scale on-prem and hybrid environments
  
  
• Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
