Job summary

Berry Bros. & Rudd in London is seeking a Wine and Spirits Advisor for a seasonal fixed-term contract (October–December). You will deliver exceptional customer service, share wine knowledge and help run tastings while ensuring smooth daily shop operations on Pall Mall.

The role supports the London Wine and Spirits shops and involves stock management, till handling and participating in events and campaigns. WSET3 or equivalent is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience delivering outstanding customer service in retail.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Experience with stock replenishment.

Responsibilities

• Present a very high level of customer service in person, by phone and by email.
• Maintain shop displays, stock levels, and wine equipment.
• Organise tastings for customers when needed.
• Support sales/marketing campaigns and shop events.
• Coordinate with cellar, warehouse and dispatch for stock deliveries.
• Handle transactions and till reconciliation.
• Support shop security and loss prevention.

The London Wine and Spirits Shops are a critical part of the company. They play a significant role in BB&R’s financial success whilst also providing a space for us to welcome customers to the brand and to introduce them to all the products and services we offer.

This role will support the London Wine and Spirits shop teams and as a part of providing excellent customer service, you will need to demonstrate a good knowledge and enthusiasm for wines & spirits, as well as ensuring the effective day to day operations of the shop.

Who you will work with

All Berry Bros. & Rudd Employees particularly Operations (London Cellar Team, Logistics), Customer Services, Buying, Marketing, Account Managers, Berry Bros. & Rudd customers, occasionally suppliers/producers.

What you will do

• Present a very high level of customer service in line with the standards set out by company policy, advising on, and selling, the full range of BB&R products and services to customers in person, by telephone and through written correspondence including e-mail
• Ensure the shop and displays (including stock levels), Enomatic wine tasting machines, fridges, cupboards, Fine Wine & Spirit Reserve are maintained properly and kept clean and tidy
• Organise tastings for customers where necessary
• Implement and participate in shop and company sales/marketing campaigns as directed (including tasting and other shop events)
• Liaise with the Cellars, Warehouse and Despatch teams regarding the distribution of shop stock and deliveries
• Handle transactions, process payments and participate in cashing-up/till reconciliation
• Be mindful of shop security (fraud, theft)

What you will bring to the role

• Previous experience of delivering and maintaining an outstanding level of customer service and offering customers an unforgettable retail experience
• The ability to foster and develop customer relationships
• Experience in effectively dealing with stock replenishment
