We’re Mercer Wines — a proudly independent winery based in the Hunter Valley, founded by Aaron and Alison Mercer. Known for our award-winning, sustainable wines and warm hospitality, we produce a broad range of styles from across New South Wales — from classic Hunter Valley Semillon to emerging Mediterranean reds. We’re serious about quality and sustainability, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Our team is tight-knit, values-driven and passionate about crafting exceptional wine for every occasion. Now, we’re looking for a dynamic, trade-savvy Wine Sales Expert to represent Mercer Wines across a key region of NSW.

About the Role

Covering the Hawkesbury to Coffs Harbour — with a focus on the Central Coast, Newcastle, Port Stephens and the North Coast — you’ll:

• Develop and manage strong relationships with existing on- and off-premise accounts

• Open new doors and expand brand presence across your region

• Host tastings, deliver staff training, and represent the brand at events

• Provide product support, sales insights, and trade service to customers

• Collaborate with the Mercer team on strategy, promotions, and activations

• Report regularly on trade activity, market feedback and new opportunities

About You

You’ve worked in wine trade sales — you know the rhythm of the market, and you’re comfortable walking into a venue with confidence and clarity. You’re professional, personable and self-driven, with a sharp understanding of how to build long-term customer relationships and spot smart growth opportunities.

You’ll bring:

• Proven wine sales experience across on- and off-premise channels

• Existing customer relationships in the region (ideal)

• Excellent communication, presentation and people skills

• The ability to manage your own schedule with autonomy

• A current driver’s licence and flexibility to travel

• WSET or similar wine qualifications are a plus
