Job summary

Morson Edge (Financial Services) in London is seeking a Windows Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering Team on a permanent basis. The role is hybrid with four days in the office.

You will support Windows server technologies across on-prem, hosted and cloud environments, focusing on integration, automation, and standardisation to power trading, middle and back office platforms. You'll work with senior engineers on design and architecture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Windows Platform Engineering experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong experience with Microsoft server technologies, including on-premises deployments.
• Virtualisation design and support across VMware and Hyper‑V; container tech such as Kubernetes.
• Enterprise integration across security, HA, networking, and load balancing.
• Administration of Microsoft 365 services: Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint Online.
• Experience turning requirements into supported solutions for proprietary and commercial software.
• Public cloud platform engineering with Azure or AWS.
• IaC skills with automation/orchestration tools: Source Control, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, ServiceNow.
• PowerShell or Python scripting; APIs and JSON/YAML familiarity.
• Experience with GenAI technologies via public cloud or OpenAI/AWS.

Responsibilities

• Focus on integration, automation, standardisation and orchestration to improve repeatability.

Windows Platform Engineer – AWS/Azure, M365, PowerShell/Python, Solution Design, IaC, IaaS, GenAI/ Agentic AI – Hedge Fund – Permanent – Up to £75,000p.a – Hybrid.

My Client, a Leading Private Hedge Fund, are looking for a Windows Platform Engineer to join their London based Infrastructure Engineering Team on a permanent basis. This role is Hybrid, offering x4 days/week in the office.

You’ll help deliver the technology services that power our core business areas worldwide, including Trading, Middle and Back Office, and Technology. You’ll work across Windows, virtualisation and associated technologies, delivered through on-premises, hosted and public cloud environments.

The focus is on system integration, support, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on standardisation, repeatability, automation, and orchestration. You’ll also work alongside senior engineers across solution design, scoping, and architecture across our key technology platforms.

What you’ll bring

• 3-5 years of Window Platform Engineering industry experience. Experience in a financial institution is an advantage.
• Platform engineering and support experience focused on Microsoft server technologies, including on-premises bare metal deployments
• Virtualisation design, architecture and support across VMware and Microsoft Hyper‑V, plus container technologies such as Kubernetes
• Enterprise integration experience covering security, high availability, networking, and load balancing
• Administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams and SharePoint Online
• Experience turning requirements into supported solutions and environments for both proprietary and commercial software
• Public cloud platform engineering and support, ideally with Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Infrastructure as Code skills across on-prem and cloud IaaS, using automation and orchestration tools such as Source Control, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and ServiceNow
• Scripting or programming ability in PowerShell, Python or similar, with familiarity with APIs and JSON/YAML data structures
• Experience with GenAI technologies via public cloud, OpenAI, AWS or similar
