Job Description
- Join our Onshore Wind service team in the UK and work with the latest turbine technology in a challenging onshore environment. Drive process and rigor as we develop our operations and service teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during maintenance and servicing activities at customer-owned facilities.
- Prepare job planning documents defining the scope of work through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions.
- Communicate effectively with management and colleagues, utilizing customers' CTQs (Critical to Quality needs) in planning and execution.
- Implement fault analyses and repair of wind turbine generator systems in the UK, addressing client queries.
- Document call-out responses, fault finding, and repair work in service reports, logbooks, and checklists.
- Coordinate external and internal service providers and contractors on site.
- Maintain a strong safety culture reflecting GE and customer technical and EHS requirements.
- Work and fulfill on-call obligations outside normal hours, including weekends if required.
- Perform administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports, timesheets, and expense sheets.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Qualified Electrical / Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Technician / Technologist, Electrician, or Electrical Fitter with a recognized diploma or certificate.
- Experience with electrical test equipment and testing procedures.
- High quality awareness, excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Structured, analytical worker.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Willing to travel within the UK and Europe, including for training.
- Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Valid national driver's license.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience leading field service teams.
- Previous experience working on GE turbines.
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Project, Access).
- Basic Workplace First Aid certification.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Reside within approximately 1 hour of site locations (Chelveston/Kettering as initial staging location).
- Legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship required candidates considered.
