Job summary

Natural Power seeks a skilled wind turbine technician to service and maintain multi-brand turbines with a focus on reliability and safety. You will perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs at Brockloch Rig Wind Farm, reporting in accordance with site procedures.

The role requires strong hands-on mechanical and electrical knowledge, collaboration with the Service Team, and willingness to work on-call and occasionally weekends to keep turbines running at peak performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience servicing multi-brand wind turbines and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to perform fault finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Willingness to work on-call and cover weekends as needed.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing activities on multi-brand wind turbines.
  • Execute corrective maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting, and repair on turbine systems.
  • Engage in root cause analysis to identify causes of equipment failures and implement actions.
  • Carry out repairs or component replacements to prevent downtime and improve uptime.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve turbine efficiency and reliability.
  • Be prepared for out-of-hours and weekend response per on-call schedule.
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
  • Maintain accurate records of timesheets, expenses and maintenance activities.
  • Communicate with ControlCentre personnel regularly.
  • Assist in producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensure PPE, tools and vehicles are well maintained.
  • Contribute to a positive company profile through collaboration with NPS/NPC.
  • Stay informed about site turbine technology and pursue development.

As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Service Team is expanding, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to complement our existing Wind Turbine Team of highly skilled technicians. You will be willing to work collaboratively, display strong fault-finding skills & experience and be ready to help us continue to drive towards a world powered by renewable energy.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and fault-finding activities on Senvion MM82/92 and Nordtank NTK-600 turbines, predominantly at Brockloch Rig Wind Farm. DG7 3TJ.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing activities on multi-brand wind turbines to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and complete documentation as required.
  • Execute corrective maintenance, fault finding, troubleshooting, and repair on all turbine systems, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies, and complete the corresponding documentation diligently.
  • Engage in root cause analysis to pinpoint the underlying cause of equipment failures and effectively implement corrective actions.
  • Proactively carry out repairs or facilitate component replacement to avert complete failure or system downtime, thus ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to elevate turbine efficiency and reliability.
  • Be prepared to provide out-of-hours and weekend response to turbine breakdowns as per the on-call schedule.
  • Adhere meticulously to all health and safety requirements, including the WTSR.
  • Maintain accurate records of timesheets, expenses, and maintenance activities, encompassing work performed, parts utilized, and equipment condition.
  • Maintain regular and effective communication with ControlCentre personnel.
  • Offer assistance in producing and validating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and vehicles are maintained at the highest standards.
  • Contribute to upholding a positive company profile through effective communication and collaboration with all other NPS/NPC departments.
  • Stay informed about the latest technical developments related to the role and site turbine technology and actively pursue personal development through training, mentoring, and staying abreast of developments in the wind power industry.

This is a Permanent Full Time role, working 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 7.00 - 16.00.
