Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician based in the Inverness area to maintain and service wind assets across the UK. You will perform essential maintenance, fault analysis, and complex repairs on turbine generator systems to ensure peak performance and safety.

You will act as a field technical representative, coordinating on-site activities, managing documentation, and serving as a primary client contact. Expect extensive travel and regular on-call work across projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of wind turbine electrical and mechanical systems.

The Wind Turbine Technician will perform essential maintenance, fault analysis, and complex repairs on wind turbine generator systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

You will act as a key technical representative in the field, working both independently and collaboratively to maintain our wind assets. You will coordinate on‑site activities, manage technical documentation, and serve as a primary contact for client queries, ensuring that every project is delivered to the highest quality standards.

Special Role Requirements

• Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments across the UK.
• Willing to work holidays, weekends, and on‑call rotations as required by field assignments.
• Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.
• Ability to work safely at heights.

Skills for Success

You should be a hands‑on technical expert who thrives in a dynamic field environment, with:

• The ability to diagnose and remedy complex electrical or mechanical faults in wind turbine systems.
• The capability to work independently or lead a team in high‑pressure, site‑based environments.
• An understanding of PLC systems and standard diagnostic software tools.
• An expertise in electrical engineering, power electronics, or mechatronics.

A formal education or professional training in an electrical engineering sector is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Inverness area. You will be expected to work onsite as required by the needs of our regional wind farm projects.
