Job purpose

The role of a Turbine O&M Technician is to support the Turbine O&M Team in delivering specific projects. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to help resolve ongoing issues and implement improvements. We are looking for candidates with a technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in turbine disciplines, with good analytical fault-finding capabilities on Electrical, Mechanical & Hydraulic systems.

Key Accountabilities

This role suits an experienced Wind Turbine Technician eager to develop their capabilities in delivering high-quality maintenance activities and contributing to the business's growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Effective communication, both written and verbal, and proficiency in customer interface at site level and pre-task coordination.
  • Preparing Risk Assessments, Method statements, and other client procedures.
  • Maintaining high levels of Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental awareness.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK & Ireland as project needs dictate.
  • Knowledge of gearbox inspections, vibration analysis, ultrasound, bore scope, thermal imaging, blade repair, and technical auditing (training provided).
  • Leading main component replacements, identifying tooling requirements, and developing technical training.
  • Experience working in H&S focused environments.

  • Turbine O&M background
  • Team leadership and subcontractor coordination
  • H&S awareness including risk assessments and MS
  • Mechanical or Electrical fault finding
  • Use of Hydraulic tooling and blade repairs
Skills
  • Effective communication (written & verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience
  • Wind Turbine maintenance
  • Large component exchange (preferred)
  • Managing heavy lifting and slinger banksman
  • Working at height
  • Experience with Siemens and Gamesa technology
Qualifications
