About the role:

We at RWE Renewables continue our journey towards a better environment and a renewable future.

We are now expanding our Team by recruiting a Wind Turbine Blade Engineer.

In this role, you have the opportunity to work in the UK (Swindon).

In the role of Blade Engineer, you will work with our experienced and international Blade Engineering team and Wind Turbine Engineers to provide engineering support during project development, construction and operations for offshore wind turbine projects in Europe.

This includes a range of activities:

  • Evaluation of inspection reports from turbines in operation, prioritisations of repairs and execution
  • Perform, evaluate, and analyse blade inspections as well as support our wind farms with blade repair campaigns
  • Support technical investigations on blade accidents or other blade-related issues in our operational fleet
  • Evaluate new technologies for inspection, repair, and refurbishment of blade structures
  • Support and conduct quality inspections on blades for new-built projects
  • Support development projects in their turbine selection and turbine purchasing activities
  • Extract learnings from our turbine operations, and transfer knowledge into internal requirements and specifications, to supplement international technical standards and to optimize turbine operations
  • Review and write technical reports
  • Support our RWE Wind Turbine Engineers with the target to improve performance and lifetime of blades
  • Evaluate technical risks and solutions for lifetime extension and dismantling activities

Key Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Professional background related to rotor blades
  • Practical experience with blade inspections, blade repair, or manufacturing QA/AC
  • Practical experience with offshore turbine blade operations
  • English (business fluent) and any other language
  • Ability and medical assessment to work at height
  • Versatile, cooperative, and engaged in multiple areas of interest
  • Skilled at establishing, maintaining, and developing effective relationships
  • Organized and methodical, with a consistent approach to tasks
  • Action-oriented and pragmatic
  • Looking to work in an international environment, including travel across sites in EU
  • GWO training and IRATA
